Lower Back Pain
What is it?
Pain in the lumbar region of the spine or lower back.
Do I have it?
Many medical conditions can cause back pain. However, lower back pain may be caused by spending long periods of time on your feet, being overweight, having improper posture (standing or sitting) or having improperly cushioned and supported feet.
What causes it?
As the heel repeatedly strikes the ground, shock waves can travel up the legs to the lumbar region of the spine or lower back, where they can aggravate back muscles and cause pain.
How can I help prevent it?
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Wear shoes that fit properly and provide adequate support
- Support your feet with insoles or inserts
Not medical advice, see a doctor if problems persist.
