Plantar Fasciitis

Pain that radiates from the heel.

Plantar Fasciitis is the pain and inflammation of the plantar fascia, the connective tissue along the bottom of the foot, from the heel to the base of the toes.

The primary symptom of Plantar Fasciitis is pain normally felt at the heel and occurring where the plantar fascia attaches to the heel bone. The pain can be intense when getting out of bed or a chair. The pain often lessens when walking, but may be persistent.

A sudden or drastic increase in mileage, along with the lack of proper arch support or the use of worn out shoes may be to blame. Tight calves can also contribute to the problem.

  • Ease into any added exercise program
  • Use orthotic inserts or insoles designed for added arch support

Not medical advice, see a doctor if problems persist.
